Gartner Names Red Hat as a Visionary in 2016 Magic Quadrant for Mobile Application Development Platforms (MADP)

We are excited that Gartner has named Red Hat  as a Visionary in the 2016 Magic Quadrant for Mobile Application Development Platforms (MADP). Gartner’s strategic assumption in the report is that by 2020, more than 75% of enterprises will have adopted at least one mobile app development platform to accelerate their digital business transformation strategy, up from approximately 33% in 2015. This represents an attractive market growth rate and opportunities for Red Hat to grow the mobile business.

Following the Red Hat acquisition of FeedHenry the focus has been on continued iteration of the Red Hat Mobile Application Platform, integration with the Red Hat technology stack and middleware products, and increased global reach. To be included in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Mobile Application Development Platforms is a significant milestone for Red Hat Mobile and our customers.

Some of the areas that Gartner covered in the analysis of Red Hat Mobile Application Platform were Rapid Mobile Application Development (RMAD) capabilities, DevOps approach for testing and continuous delivery, support for enterprise-grade technology stack, cloud deployment models, security, and app lifecycle management. The analysis conducted by Gartner was based on Red Hat Mobile Application Hosted version. Last week’s release of the Red Hat Mobile Application Platform 4.0, which incorporates industry-leading container management capabilities with OpenShift Enterprise, was not part of the analysis as this was still in development.

We are excited about Gartner’s recognition of Red Hat  in the latest Magic Quadrant for MADP and while we believe this validates the quick transition Red Hat has made since the October 2014 acquisition of FeedHenry, we continue to expand our mobile offerings for enterprise, increase our global footprint, and integrate further with Red Hat technologies and products.
